Subcategory field in post ad form

Hi,

I have about 8 categories and about 80 subcategories. In the post ad form you have to select category/subcategory, and the list is to long. It take a lot of take to find the right category.
I'm thinking about another field in the post add form.
Field1 you pick the category (subcategories are not showing).
Field2 you pick the subcategory (subcategories are only shoing).
This way its easier to find the right category, takes less time, and people will put it in the right place.

Anybody knows easy way of doing this? Any way will do, once it will work.
Can I get a plugin or something for that? Any ideas?

You'd have to build two dropdowns...first one only selecting parent categories. The second would be just subcategories. I'm not sure if wordpress has a function to show just subcategories. You might want to take a look at their codex site.

It would be pretty tricky to get this working though.
