What's up with the fixed price?

Since I have all of my categories set to be free, and charge $15 for featured Ads, I thought I would use the fixed price option for regular Ads and set the price to $0. This way I would eliminate the value appearing beside each category...
Well I just got 4 email complaints from customers trying to post a free Ad, and are being asked for Paypal processing.
    What's up with that?!

I was hoping to do the same thing on my new setup. is this going to be an issue? should it be set up differently?
    Anyone else have this problem?

Re: What's up with the fixed price?

It seems this is a known issue as it is right in the options:
Note: If you have the "Activate Paypal?" option set to "Yes" then each ad will automatically be a draft until payment is made (regardless of the option above).

So I guess we have to put somewhere in the form that tells people this.

    No.
There is a field in "Configure" called "Default New Ad Status" You can set your new Ads to "Published" and they go live right away.

Is anyone having an issue with this option and SPAM posts getting posted up?

I was tinkering with a new classifieds site earlier this week - I don't the think the Fixed Price option is suppose to be designed to work in the way your suggesting.

I believe an easier and better solution would be to include a fix in the drop down display code that removes "$0" if that category is free.
