    WP Welcome Email Issue

    Hello!

I'm about to pull my hair out & hoping ya'll can help me out. I've asked the guy that made this plug in, but still have not found resolution.

Here's the deal: When my welcome email goes out, the sender's name says WordPress. The address is correct, however.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks for your help!

    Another thing...

    according to the install instructions:
"You can also customize the new user registration emails that get sent out. Go to “Settings” => “New User Emails” and customize the fields however you like (The “SB Welcome Email Editor” plugin must be activated in order for this to work)."

(I have the sb email editor activated & have done tons of test emails.)

BUT, when I go to "Settings". There is not a "New User Emails" option listed.

I access the settings for this plugin right above the ClassiPress menu in my WP admin panel.

    Re: WP Welcome Email Issue

Well...I seem to keep answering my own posts.

To recap: the problem I had was the name in the from/sender field would say WordPress instead of my site name. The return address was correct, however. We tried all kinds of things...but Sean Barton (plugin author) http://www.sean-barton.co.uk/finally found the problem. We've emailed back & forth all day.

    Here's the fix. Sean said:

    Hi,

Sounds very odd indeed. Obviously not a plugin conflict. Can you open up the plugin php file in a text editor for me and search for the word mail. does it say mail() or wpmail(). If it says wpmail (or wp_mail) then change it to mail and retest it.

Let me know how you get on

    thanks
    Sean

    There you have it! Yippee!

I hope this helps someone else.

    Thanks for sharing your response.

If you search the forums here you can find plenty of posts relating to the e-mail address and changing it from "WordPress". This is not a CP thing, it's a WP thing..
