WP125 and HTML/Widgets with Sponsored Ads

Apologies if I overlooked it somewhere, but couldn't seem to find this issue in the CP forum or installation guide, WP125 developer's site or READ ME txt, etc. -

An affiliate ad I'd like to place where the six "Advertise On This Site" 125 x 125 spots are is in HTML (like Google AdSense or an HTML widget). I was wondering if anyone could tell me (or direct me to resources for) how you place these kinds of ads in that spot, using WP125 or otherwise?

I might also want to replace all 6 spots with one larger ad and was also wondering how to do that as well.

    WP125 plugin/widget installed, activated.

Thanks in advance! Still pretty new to WP and CP.

    Hi Faucj.
The WP125 plugin works great for affiliate links but will not work for systems like AdSense where you need to use a block of html. There are other plugins that can handle that, or you could just paste your code into a text widget (you can use several at a time), but WP125 cant handle that.
(BTW: David conveniently provides 125x125 graphics in his affiliate area)
The search button. Your new best friend.

Re: WP125 and HTML/Widgets with Sponsored Ads

Thanks for the help, dubya - I decided to go with the Text Widget and it's working great!

Amazon sizes for the ad widgets I'd like to use are either 300 x 250, which, of course, runs off one side of the Ads area on my site, or 180 x 150 or 160 x 600. I'm assuming Amazon won't let you alter the size of their ads/widgets? I'd like to use the 160 x 600, but it would look a lot better centered (right now it's left-justified).

Do you or does anyone know how to center it?

    Thanks again!

    **UPDATE**

Putting <center> before the code and then </center> after it seems to have done the trick.

Re: WP125 and HTML/Widgets with Sponsored Ads

I'm using WP125 to display ads from Commission Junction and it works great - except for one thing. If you use the random setting, you still get the default ad showing up even when all ad slots are populated!

So far I've not found any viable solution for this.

I've considered using wpCJ @ http://www.wpcj.com/ but it seems a bit overkill for what I'm trying to do.

Re: WP125 and HTML/Widgets with Sponsored Ads

I run a few affiliate programs through my wp125 ads - I simply pulled out my affiliate link from the code and saved the banner to my server.

By placing the links to the affiliate link and banner - works just fine. Best of all, the links are masked.

At the beginning I was sort of confused with all the zones/templates things, however once you get used to them it is a breeze, and the support is superb.
