Amazon coupons
Hi David, think you need to change your default sample coupons.
I assumed from the the sample amazon coupon that Amazon in fact had coupons.
Not only the they not have coupons, they don't like the idea of promoting Amazon as a coupon offer. See the reply to my enquiry to them below.
This seems to be misleading to all, and should be changed.
I was going to promote buyersangels.com as a coupon code and deals and best buys site, and I was going to include Amazon products in this mix. This would be against their policy and could ultimately have had me banned from Amazon. A point that I believe you should check with Amazon, and if so, let your clients know now.
The other point I asked about was a CVS data feed. They do offer a an API, and I assume an XML data feed.
WordPress have a XML import plugin, and I wanted to know if we could use this plugin on Clipper to import XML data feeds from Amazon and other affiliate groups.
Also, what affiliate groups have .cvs feeds? I assume that you offer this to facilitate known programs that offer this solution that you had in mind.
All this is missing information from the setup documentation in my view.
Can we use pretty links plugin to mask the afilliate links
There is no way that you can set up a site in "minutes" with the scant information and misleading information you provide.
I have taken days to look through amazon for something that is not there [coupon offers] and the subsequent communication with Amazon to find out what there policy is in this regard before ploughing ahead misinformed.
Please consider fleshing out your information, and removing the Amazon coupon gaff from the default site, and replace it with a real usable example.
Clipper is a great product, but it does need some work before I can actually use it.
For instance, how do I put in an offer as a coupon, that does not have a coupon code? [there are offers out there that don't have codes]. Inventing one for Amazon was my original thought, till I got Amazon's reply just now.
I believe their is an implied warranty that your product is fit for purpose. What you are promoting isn't in my view if you intended to buy it for Amazon product promotion as you promote.
Hope this helps, and I assume that you will make it a priority to correct the flawsand omissions in an otherwise great product.
Amazons reply to my enquiry about using your Clipper theme to promote.
Thank you for writing to the Amazon Associates Program.
We believe that listing coupons on Associates sites creates misunderstandings for our mutual customers. When posting coupons on your site the rules and restrictions are not included in their original format. This lack of information often leads to the misinterpretation of the related promotion. Customer misunderstanding often causes a loss of trust for the Associate and Amazon.com. It also tends to prompt an increase in contacts for our Customer Service department.
Coupon offerings are not a part of the Associate Program but rather used as separate marketing campaign. These coupons are intended only in the original media which they were presented; marketing via mail and newspaper. We therefore discourage the use of coupons on Associate sites and will not verify any information on these
promotional offerings.
Also, I recommend API for datafeeds. The Product Advertising API provides programmatic access to Amazon's product selection and discovery functionality so that developers can advertise Amazon products to monetize their website.
The Product Advertising API helps you advertise Amazon products using product search and look up capability, product information and features such as Customer Reviews, Similar Products, Wish Lists and New and Used listings.
Please refer to our website for more details on the API and the use cases it supports:
