Edit post content in single.php or wherever

Hi,

I want to put a custom ad tag in the content of the post, like the header,middle or wherever inside the text blog post.
I´ve tried editing single.php with no success.
I got it when editing loop.php but then the ad appeared in the blog category page, being shown n times,what it is not allowed.

any idea where I have to edit the blog post template to get what I want?
