Export Listings and Events for a mobile app?

I realize this isn't directly related to the theme or child theme, but I am hoping as developers you can at least advise me. I am trying to get a mobile app designed using the listings that are added to Directory and even more specifically, the events. Somehow, these need to be accessed by the mobile app, and at least updated weekly to keep the app current. I apologize, but I have no idea how apps work or how to integrate with this data. But I'm guessing if the app could access the Directory data, or we could feed the app updated data maybe weekly, this would work. I am thinking that if the listings and events could be downloaded in csv format, maybe they could then be uploaded weekly to the app to keep it current?

I would really appreciate any insight you have regarding this. My next step will be to contact an app designer, but I'm not sure what to tell them about accessing the data from the site? This is a vital part of our business plan so any help will truly be appreciated.
