    Can I disable wp cron

    Due to heavy CPU usage my host has suggested to add a line define('DISABLE_WP_CRON', true); in wp_config file.
    If I disable wp cron will the classipress be effected in any way ?
    Will it be able to take off expired ads and send reminder emails etc. ?
    Is there any other alternative to cron ?
