I can't seem to find a way to display the side bar on my homepage.

I'm using the latest version and I can't seem to show the side bar on my homepage. I checked the page and its set to Ads Home Template and I can't find a way to change the page layout. I checked the customize - layout - page and I see the side bar enabled but it's not showing. Appreciate if anyone could help. I need a sidebar on my homepage. Thanks.
