Classipress future updates

I note that Classipress 3.1.9 is the final update before Appthemes moves this theme over to the new framework (on which Vantage is based).
Will there be any issues upgrading an existing 3.1.9 install to the new framework when it arrives? i.e. will this be Classipress 3.2 (where we can simply upgrade the theme)...or a complete makeover to Classipress 4 (requiring a possible re-installation)?

I suppose I'm asking if it's worth waiting for the new framework version before embarking on a new project or whether it's ok to develop a 3.1.9 version that can be updated later?
