cp search function

I would like to know which files to edit if i want to change the default search function in classipress. for example it comes with a search field by default and categories dropdown. I wish to add other fields.

Please could you point me in the right direction so that I can do some custom work tests. Which file or files should i edit for the home page search and the widget search function.
