Editing picture in gallery does not transfer to all thumbnails

Hi,

Did only notice it now and I am not sure if it is connected to a plugin or the cp 4.2.4 update.

Many times I have to turn uploaded photos to make them look ok, since they are sideways. (Which is a pain in the ***, but seems to be a WP problem)

Since yesterday I noticed that the editing of pics works almost fine.
with one exception:
The pic in listings with only one uploaded picture is showing the orginal upload, not the edited version!!!
That never happened before. I tried to turn off the child theme and removed the shortpixel plugin (optimizer) - same error.

Any idea why it is happening?

Samples listings - if you click the pic, you see the correctly edited pic. Sidebar "latest listings" thumbnails are also ok. If multiple pics are in the gallery all ok too.
