    FAO - D Cowgill.

Okay - Hopefully I have your attention.

I have been a member of Appthemes for nearly 4 years and in this time I have seen so many ideas for better membership packs its unreal.

Yet guess what - Not one single idea has been implemented. Why?

(Some of the options I'm going to post below are available already as standard - so no need to point out the obvious to me if I'm lucky enough to get a reply off you)

It can't be rocket science surely. All people want, myself included is a system whereby we can offer different options based on different circumstances. Every single classified site has this methodology.

1 - Allow the option of creating proper decent membership packs. The current system is shocking.
Example - I want to have 4 initial membership packs that a registered user can select and the option to create these memberships in the back end. (you can cll them whatever you like but in my example they are)

    a) Free membership - On first registration and, the Admin can set various options in back end
    b) Bronze membership - Admin can set various options in back end
    c) Silver membership - Admin can set various options in back end
    d) Gold membership - Admin can set various options in back end

1 - Free membership - A user that registers on the site gets automatic free basic membership based on whatever options I decide in the back end. This should be stated on the user dashboard once registered, along with whatever options are contained within the 'free membership'.

2 - Once a member has registered and has now got a Free membership, we (the admin) should be allowed to offer additional features to this member by way of different options. These options being available in the back end for the admin to select/deselect according to membership level:
Additional days advertising above the free membership allocation (example 1-365 days)
    Featured Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Extra Image uploads @ £x.xx
    Bold/Highlighted Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Video upload @ £x.xx
    Bump Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Per category Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Show in slider upgrade @ £x.xx
(and any other ideas you could think of)

These are basic options which should be an option in the back end as standard for the admin to assign to a membership pack.
In my example I had four memberships.

For the free membership I want to be able to assign:
30 days ad listing free/no cost
    Featured Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Extra Image uploads @ £x.xx
    Bold/Highlighted Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Video upload @ £x.xx
    Bump Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Per category Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Show in slider upgrade @ £x.xx

Or any of the above for free if so required.

    For the Bronze Membership:

Additional days advertising above the free membership allocation (example 1-365 days)
    Featured Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Extra Image uploads @ £x.xx
    Bold/Highlighted Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Video upload @ £x.xx
    Bump Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Per category Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Show in slider upgrade @ £x.xx

Or any of the above for free if so required.

    Silver membership:
Additional days advertising above the free membership allocation (example 1-365 days)
    Featured Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Extra Image uploads @ £x.xx
    Bold/Highlighted Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
    Video upload @ £x.xx
    Bump Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Per category Ad upgrade @ £x.xx
Show in slider upgrade @ £x.xx

Or any of the above for free if so required.

And so on and so forth. Like I said. It's not rocket science is it?

The ad packs you have now are stupid and confusing.
The membership pack set up is also stupid and confusing.
The text description on the output pages of the membership pack screen is also confusing and daft.
    See below:
    Attachment 14164

What could be easier than having 2 different admin options?

One for creating membership packs, like bronze, silver, gold (or whatever you want to call them)
One for assigning/setting options to already created membership packs.

I hope you reply and can give me feedback on the points above. It's something which has been long overdue and needs adding/addressing to Classipress asap.

    Regards

    Bleem
