Featured Ad Duration Question

Hi folks,

Featured ads are new territory for me, not actually used them yet in my site, but I'm going to come next year (or sooner) once my site redesign is finished.

Now what I need clarification on;

1. Is the ad that is marked as featured, remain featured for the entirety of the ad duration? As in if under ClassiPress settings > Listings, we make the ad duration 365 days, and a user buys the featured ad listing option, is their ad featured for this entire time?

2. Depending on the answer above - is it possible to set the ad listing to say 365 days, but the featured duration to 30 days. After this is defaults back to normal ad.

3. I know it's not possible to upgrade an existing ad to featured once it's been published, can you confirm. Have users got a solution for this? Is there a plugin available already, or do I need to do my own custom coding?

Thanks guys, really looking forward to incorporating featured ads into my new design as it's going to really make them stand out, but got lots of little things to sort first, like the above.
