Help with Search parameters in General Settings.

Hi, I'm currently using the Classipress theme.

However there is a section of the general settings which has me confused.

It states: exclude from search results for both blog posts and pages.

In fact, I've only noticed this now whilst working on something else.

My question is, will it affect rankings etc... Despite already some pages being ranked?
