How to disable HTML for about me section in profile page?

Hi,

I want to disable HTML for 'about me' section in profile page for a user? As of now users can use <a href codes and use html and anchor texts/links..

I want to detract spammers on my site, that's why i want to do this.

Important thing; I haven't disabled (or 301 redirected ) author page. So they show when clicked and so the links show in About me page for a user.
