Installing a second copy of Classipress on same server??
Hello,
I am using GoDaddy's WordPress Hosting service, which is made specifically for
WP. It has unlimited bandwidth, unlimited transfer, etc. You can run multiple websites on the same hosting account each with unique domain names(although tech support at GoDaddy says multiple
WP sites on one host/server is a bad idea because they hog a lot of resources) - if it is unlimited I wouldn't think this would matter. My real questions are below though.
Here is what I am questioning...My first Classipress site was installed last weekend and a couple days ago I decided to start a second Classipress site. Once the domain was registered, dns put in place and the
WP loaded on that domain, I began uploading the classipress.zip file just like I did for the first site. This time the folder "classipress" never showed up in my FTP file manager folders list. My first site
FortList.com is the root domain(I think that is the term) or should I say first domain/site on the hosting account. It populated fine and showed the classipress folder fine. This one didn't. So in the FTP file manager I decided to create a folder named classipress and "copy" all the folders/files from the
FortList.com folder to the new site's folder
Bucklister.com. It all copied accurately, the "available apps" in the
WP dashboard now showed Classipress available for install, which it didn't before and everything seems to function properly. It even kept my changes that I wanted to make to all sites regarding the custom text in the footer where it says "Powered by Word Press". O.k. finally the question before spending anymore time on building the site...Will this work? Is it o.k. to do this or will there be potential issues? and Can I do this each time I start a new site?
Separate question...Is GoDaddy acceptable for using
WP and Classipress? Any known issues that you have heard?
Thanks in advance!
Jim
