Start with normal ClassiPress theme or child theme?

    Hi Everyone,

I am very new here and hope to get some general help from the moderators and community. My knowledge of WP is medium to advanced. I know very little html and coding, but am learning.

I believe I posted something like this yesterday, but either it was never send or deleted. I am puzzled.

Since I want to set up our new portal with ClassiPress, I would like to ask you a general question:

Should I start setting it all up with a Child Theme directly? I have the feeling yes, but am worried it might be too complicated and maybe not worth it.

You will now ask, what changes I plan to make. Well, this is what I plan for now and I am not sure if it is smarter to start with a child theme.
    - No banner in ads
    - maps with pinpoints
    - add the phone number to profiles
    - adapt forms and also add opening/closing times
    - not important but - is there a simple way to upload any profile pic, rather than needing to use Gravatar
    - replace the grey pic with a "no photo" pic in the ads list when ads have no pic uploaded
    - hopefully add a "locate me" button on the map search widget

Do you think it is worth it starting off with a Child Theme?

    thanks
    With kind regards,
    Chris
