Two Wordpress Installs - One User Database
I have a very unique problem that required a very unique solution:
We have a automotive website that has over 20,000 members, it's currently run on static HTML pages and a phpBB 2.0 board
We have recently done a complete redesign and upgrade to the site that we hope to launch soon, its now running a Wordpress front end with the forums run via phpbb 3 and the users database is integrated via
wp-united, so that a user can sign in via wordpress and post in the phpbb forums and vice versa
No we wish to incorporate Classipress to handle the classified ads on the site forums as this is a HUGE part of the site traffic and content. The problem is that we cant install Classipress on the main Wordpress front end because we would like to keep our new wordpress theme for the site...
We tried installing Classipress in a sub dir on the domain (mydoamin.com/classipress) using the same database, but with a different prefix (wp_classifieds) but it can NOT access the same User database..
My Questions is:
How can i have two Wordpress installs pulling the same user database?
We cant use Wordpress MU as it doesnt allow
Wp-United to integrate WordpressMU and phpbb3.. any ideas or suggestions welcomed.
thanks
