    upgrading to 3.3.1 from 3.1.9

    I was reading this post: How To Upgrade CP 1.X, 2.X to 3.3.1 STABLE: and am wondering if I need to do this same thing for my manual upgrade. Though I am experienced in MySQL and php, I'm wondering if I need to 'start from scratch' and move data? In short - I'm not finding adequate info for a sort of experienced but not deeply knowdegeable person to upgrade from 3.1.9 to 3.3.1. I have Wordpress 3.6.1.

    Does a child theme need different treatment here as well?
