What page controls the category box on home page?

I want to remove the categories and replace with my own content on the home page, but I want to keep the box that they show up in...

Can anyone tell me which page controls the category view box on the home page?

I want to keep the categories in the link on the nav menu though... I would just like to display some html content in the box on the home page instead of the categories...
