Cannot Add Store Image in Clipper

I am not able to add images to stores in a fresh installation of Clipper v2.05. A similar issue was reported in at least two threads recently (Thread 1, Thread 2). I have followed the suggestions in both threads but I'm still not able to update store images. Briefly, this is what I have done:

I have updated and upgraded my VPS server.
Re-ran the activation script as admin (replaced my domain with example) Deleted MySQL databases, removed Wordpress files, and reinstalled WP 5.3.

I believe that the activation script does not run properly during installation as I end up with a blank white page (also noted by another user). This may be an issue with a server configuration but I cannot determine the cause. I was able to install the theme on the AWS Bitnami Wordpress three weeks ago without any problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
