Clipper 2.0 Wish List
Although not yet confirmed, I have heard through the grapevine that there will be an up and coming Clipper version 2.0 coming out. I wanted to give everyone a voice in the features we desire and need. So I will start out the thread with several:
.) We need a built in lightbox for displaying coupons, whereby the affiliate link opens in the original window and a new tab opens with the lightbox and coupon code + copies the code. This is already done in "couponjoy" but it should be built in and I have heard that future development is over.
.) Include all coupons, including unreliable coupons in the sitemap. Again, this is already done by a plugin but as with couponjoy, the plugin "better sitemaps" is not being developed further.
.) A built in console of sort to be able to control and/or alter votes up and down, total votes, etc. Currently you can only rest everything to zero and there is no longer any way to manually alter the numbers except to go directly into the database and manually alter it. This should be a core feature.
.) The ability to schedule the time of day for an expiration of a coupon code, so for example it could be set to expire on December 10, 2017 at 3 PM EST. Right now of course that is not possible AND a lot of stores do 6 hour and 12 hour sales especially during Christmas holidays, black friday etc. This should be core.
.) Better control of and management of "Expiring" coupons by means of advanced filtering tool. Specifically, many times we may renew a monthly coupon at the end of the that expires on say the 30th (last day of the month). Right now, in order to see which coupons are good through the 30th you have to manually hunt and peck, do a manual search, etc. There should be a built in method that allows advanced filtering so that you can filter all coupons expiring say on 11/30/17 and only those coupons show. This would then allow us to view them and renew them as needed.
.) The ability to control and customize some common text labels, such as "Unreliable coupons", "Show Coupon", "Active Coupons", etc. We shouldn't have to manually go into files and alter text labels - this is a pain and every update it's overwritten.
.) The ability to add any script, such as Javascripts, into the header or footer of the theme within a box within the interface instead of again, manually added into the theme and having it overwritten with updates.
.) Speed! Fully optimized for PHP 7.0.
