Site icon keeps changing back to the bee

Site icon keeps changing back to the bee. How do I prevent that from happening.

Steps to reproduce:
(1) I set up my site icon in appearance/customize page right after I installed the hirbee theme
(2) I go on working in the dashboard on other settings, adding posts, editing pages, etc.
(3) Suddenly the "hirebee" icon appears again

(4) I have to go to Appearance customize and there I do not need to change anything, the moment I open that page, the icon switches to my icon.

I have to repeatedly go through (2) through (4). How do I prevent it? Is this a bug and should I post it in the bugs section?
