How to actually get started?

Sorry for asking what I'm sure is a stupid question but I'm struggling to get through the set up of a site.

I've installed everything but I can't see in the documentation how I go about getting the "add a job" button/pages to show or what I need to set up to achieve the basic functionality of allowing visitors to register add a job.

Anyone able to point me in the direction of instructions which I'm sure I just couldn't find?!
