setting up .htaccess to divert visitors while setting up jobroller... or...?
I installed
WP in my root directory so that it wouldn't be abundantly obvious to visitors that this was set up on WordPress - and installed the Secure Wordpress plugin to further hide this fact from potential hackers.
I'm still getting my toes wet w/ JR - just installed it last night about 30 minutes before I went to bed.
I don't want folks going straight to my domain name and seeing my JR configuring in progress, so I set up an .htaccess file that requires a login. Upon login failure (cancel), visitors get the ugly 401 error from Apache.
Is there a better option? I'd like something secure that will redirect a failed login to another page that explained the site was under development.
This was a previously active site that I'm repurposing into a job site and I don't want previous visitors to think the server just up-n-died after it gives this error for a few weeks.
Thanks
