Clear cookies or edit database to solve problem?
I have a User who is trying to claim a listing. He abandoned this process once, and now wishes to proceed, but this time choosing a less expensive subscription plan.
The problem is that each time he tries, he gets taken straight to Pay Now, so he has no opportunity to select a different plan, or to enter a discount code. I have even created a fresh listing for him to claim, but this did not solve it.
Due to a perfect storm of the WordPress 4.3 update and an ongoing PayPal IPN bug (which Dimitris is helping me with), this potential customer has experienced several issues along the way and has remained very patient. My website's credibility is at rock bottom with him, so I want to make certain that whatever I do next will definitely clear this problem.
I can't reproduce it when I login as a dummy user and try to claim his listing, so I am guessing that either a cookie has been set on his computer (by Vantage or PayPal), or something has been written to the database by Vantage.
Can anyone point me to exactly what needs to be done to 'forget' the abandoned transaction?
