    Customising

After reading through a fair bit of the forum, it appears the best way to customise my site how I want it to be is to use a child theme.
My issue is that I really like the look of the default layout, colours etc of the vantage version 1.1.4 and after uploading the child theme it appears to be different.

Just do not want to lose all my work when I have to update the theme.

    Any suggestions please.
