Google Maps API
I purchased Vantage the other day and installed it on a brand new domain, with a clean
WP install and the problem exists whether plugins are deactivated or not. I spent the whole day yesterday reading through reams of posts on here, contacting my hosting provider and reading Google's developer pages. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of posts on here about it, but no-one (from the company at least) seems to have addressed the problem.
Do a search for "google maps" on here to see how many people have had problems with this. It makes horrendous reading. There are unresolved support requests going back years.
The problem is - my maps don't load and it's because the server limit on geocoding has been reached. This will affect every user who is on a cloud hosting account and many shared hosting accounts too, because the calls are all coming from one IP which is shared by thousands of users.
Your solution seems to be to allow people to sign up for a Google Maps for Business API account, but the cost of that starts at $1000 a month and it's completely unnecessary for the majority of people, because their free API allows 2500 geocoding requests a day and 25000 map views a day.
So, I don't understand why you've added an option for Google Maps for Business and not just a simple option for entering your free API code? That would fix it, I'm sure, because each individual website would use their own allocation and not share the allocation with thousands of other websites on the same server.
Please advise, because at the moment Vantage is no use to me at all without maps.
