help with Vantage page templates?

Hello,

•Can i find documentation on Vantage templates somewhere?

•What is listing template meant to do? •can one do a listing page for each category?

• What happens to the text put into the editor on those pages? (seems to become the description on a pseudo-listing?) Shouldn't this be introductory text on that page?

I'm sure there's some logic to it. I'd love to find out.
