Thread: I lost my Vantage to another Vantage theme

I lost my Vantage to another Vantage theme

Hello, I'm new to WP and Vantage. I had installed Vantage and was experimenting with configu.rations and I had a lot of stuff working well. This was with Vantage v1.4.1. WP told me that an updated version was available (v1.4.2) so I installed it. Unfortunately, it installed a different theme that is also called Vantage. It's from SiteOrigin and can be found at: https://siteorigin.com/theme/vantage/

I tried to re-install my original version of Vantage (1.4.1) but it fails because the "vantage" sub-folder already exists. I could rename my current folder and try again...but I'd like to figure out how to preserve all the data (listings, categories, etc) that I had already configured.

I'd also like to better understand the naming collision issue between AppTheme's Vantage and SiteOrigin's Vantage and how I can avoid this in the future. Thanks for any info.
