Do not know how to add a registration button to the site

I have the same question as a previous post. It appears that people have to register to use the site, to create a listing, post a blog or to create an event. I do not know how to add a registration. I think I added a menu button but it was a dead link that didn't lead anywhere but a blank page. Please advise.
