Vantage - prob w adding child theme Directory

We created our directory using vantage and have a few businesses signed up that went well. We really like the look of the child theme Directory. The slider bar and graphics for the businesses featured on the home page look much sharper than the parent theme. So just purchased it and uploaded it - when activating - none of the desired features where there. It said it was highly customizable but the customize dash board was highly limited and the site looked blank. all of the work from before was pretty much gone.

I downloaded then uploaded the zip directory file.


Immediately reactivated the Vantage parent. Please advise. Did I miss a step? Where are the slider and graphic areas. etc.
