    remove maps from theme

I'm currently using Google Maps API and the cost is astronomical with 12,000 visitors a week I'm thinking I want to completely remove the maps from my theme is this possible and how would I go about that ? If I just turn off the API it shows a “oops something went wrong” Message and I don't want that on my pages. I would just like to remove the area with the maps on the listing page/category and on the listing itself (sidebar)
