use custom user menu only and not the default

Hi there,

How can I make sure the theme is using ONLY a custom menu at all times and not having the default profile/user/avatar menu showing up as well?
At the moment we are forced to use a child theme with custom coding to edit the menu items, instead of using the default menus option in WordPress.

I want to make sure the theme is only using menu items that are managed in the default WordPress menus option.
How can I disable the standard user/profile/avatar in the top right corner?
