As the system administrator I would like ALL applications to go through the online email form at the bottom of each Job Listing.

The problem is that job advertisers can put links to their website and they can include information such as telephone numbers and further contact details.

Many recruitment firms use the submitted data (job applicant information) for a variety of purposes. This will be missed if applicants can simply contact the advertiser by telephone.

Can an option be added to remove the 'additional information' area. This way the system administrator can choose to use or refuse the option.

is there anyway of collecting the job applicant info anyway?

set the form to bcc the email to your email address. that's what i did with classipress

You can actually just go into the the WP back-office of each job post and edit it manually. It's really hard to enforce job posters when it comes to things like this.

I agree that you cant stop people putting phone numbers in the content etc and this will also be covered by our terms & conditions.

However, the additional information box, for me, is ASKING for someone to put direct contact details in.

Some people may want to do this, others like me will hate it ... is it possible to have an option box to display or hide it?

Beg to differ - the AGENCY who deploy the Job Board decide on THEIR own term & conditions NOT the recruiter - this is a very niave thought and a general mistake by most Job Boards.

Ultimately - features should be built in that give ADMINISTRATORS options, not decided by someone with little or no experience in that field.

I actually run a very successful student job board from another wordpress theme supplier for 6+ months. It has an option for the admin/recruiter to display/hide whatever features. 99.99% recruiters dont use contact numbers, as they mainly link the advert to their own website. Email contact is the most strong priority on a job board, recruiters dont want to be hassled by hundreds of applicants if the job is filled etc.

Your initial point declares that "Ultimately recruiters will decide to include a contact number in the job description or how to apply section" your second point states "Email contact is the most strong priority on a job board, recruiters dont want to be hassled by hundreds of applicants" .... make your mind up!

My point is simple:

WE require all applications through the email form
WE DON'T allow telephone numbers or addresses in the job description

the HOW TO APPLY section is just asking for telephone and address details.

Therefore I have forwarded a simple "feature request" which I think could be included in the admin set up:

There are various reasons why AGENCIES and JOB BOARD ADMINISTRATORS require all applications to strictly go through the email process - not least for analytic purposes so people like you can justify the charge (presuming you don't supply a free service).

Therefore, your earlier comment "so there wouldn't be a point in adding this feature" is a little weak (to be kind) - there are lots of points to include this feature.

Any way this is a FEATURE REQUEST - not an OPINION REQUEST.
