Force log in before accessing the site

Hi I am trying to make it so that a user must login or register before they can access the site. Basically holding them in the login or register page.

I can do that but then my lost password link stays stuck in a loop and even if I login, it drops me back to the same page asking for my creds.

I would also like to make a new homepage, but am unable to locate the page that is used as the default landing page which displays all the jobs.

Does anyone know how to make a new default homepage instead of the page with all the jobs on it?

or how do I get the site to require login before showing it's content?
