    how to list job categories on the home page?

    I'm working on a new jobroller project. client wants job categories listed on home page like craigslist. I followed a thread and from it tried to go to admin ->settings and set the homepage to a page with category template. but when I refresh, all I get is 'no categories'. what am I doing wrong? any assistance will be appreciated. thank you.
