Resume Specialties vs. Resume Categories - please explain

I am a "newbie" but I can't seem to discover what function Resume Specialties has in Jobroller.

Entering items in Resume Categories makes them available when a Job Seeker is putting together a resume. But entering something in Resume Specialties seems to do nothing - or at least nothing for the Job Seeker.

I am putting together a tech ed teacher job site where some teachers have very specialized skills. It would seem to me that I could put a list together using Resume Specialties and the job seeker should be able to select one of their most important specialties. But alas, after entering some Resume Specialties, they don't seem to appear anywhere on the Job Seekers resume build.

Would appreciate clarification or advice as to what this function is for.

    Thank you in advance.

    Tom
