Wordpress Not good for shared hosting nor VPS?
Hi Folks,
I wanna share with you the opinion of my host provider (below). After dozen of headaches with them, they finally admit that Wordpress is not suitable for shared hosting from a performance out of view, and that upgrading to VPS or dedicated won't necessarly solve the problem, especially if someone send a newsletter so as concurrent visitors land in the website at the same time

Well, your site was made with Wordpress.org which notoriously performs poorly with high amounts of traffic. Switching to a plan with higher RAM and bandwidth will decrease the performance issues, however we don't have any way to tell which plan you need, since we don't have any kind of benchmark for how much usage it may need. Especially since you said you sent out a mass email to over 20,500 people and get spikes of over a thousand people hitting the site after that, you may still experience intermittent problems with that kind of behavior, regardless of where you are hosting the website and if it's a VPS or Dedicated plan here, or if it's with a third party. Only testing it out will tell you if it will meet your needs, since we're throttling your site significantly faster than you can reach full capacity/bandwidth that your users are trying to exert on your site and our servers. You can try it out, and if it doesn't work out for you, feel free to cancel for a refund. We will not make any guarantees, since your site is not optimized for what you are trying to make it do. You will likely need to build your site using different software. Wordpress is a horrible idea as something to use for a classified job ad site with that many hits in a day, and I doubt you'll see much improvement on it even if you switch to another host.

So, what to ue to host a god da.. wordpress website like JobRoller? What do you use? Is VPS suitable for you? Are scheduled posts in Wordpress working well with a VPS hosting?
Thank you
