Top Menu problem

I'm having 2 problems with menus.

1. I changed the menu font color setting to white since my main menu bar is now black. I also set the background color of the site to white. The main problem is that the default menu on top right side (SUBMIT A JOB, BROWSE RESUMES, MY DASHBOARD, LOGOUT), now is there, but only shows on mouseover - it must be white like the main menu when not mouseover - prior to changing the background to white, it showed up fine. But since I'm using the white background, I need this text to be another color so it shows up - black would be fine. I cannot find a setting for this other menu - can you advise?

2. Also, I added a small menu (footer menu) to be displayed on the bottom of the page and checked the footer location in MENU settings. It shows up there in black text (can't figure out why this is in black and the one above is in white?) and its not centered - slightly off to the left some reason. The next problem is that it is ALSO showing up on the top left of the page above the logo area, but again in white until moused over.

I'd be happy to give you admin logins in case this sounds bizarre and you need to see what is happening - please let me know.
