You need to edit the file: sidebar-gmap.php

In there look for this line;

Im not sure how well this plugin works, Ive tried it but it seems to be clashing with the google maps pre-installed with CP, so Im not getting anything.
But you could just simply embed the link text...

As barukar said, I use the widget text box when I want to add ads to my sidebar, the 125x125 box is specifically made to display 125x125 ads, so your adsense wont work with it.
