You can use the Vantage "related Categories" Widget. It works fine for me -> http://www.wirinzw.de/eintraege/kategorie/auto-verkehr-zweibruecken/
The Sub-Categories are above the listings

I really like your plugin and the support that comes with, but what i dont like are hidden links in the code

it was caused by a Plugin called Wordpress SEO by Yoast.
