Following sebet's advice, I installed JR 1.7-beta-2 [4ca9ee2128] and that resolved the issue. Looking forward to the using the full release of v1.7

Have now got working with sebet's help. This may help if anyone else is having any difficulty. The setting was changed in the main php.ini file - "allow_url_fopen" to 'on'
