Maybe the author of that plugin decided to stop. I'm not much into the marketplace, so i can't tell you if something similar will be available soon.

look in the /style directory of classipress for the HEADER COLOUR you have chosen, back it up and then modify it to create a new one with the correct .css to reduce the size

Quite simply change the css padding values. Use firebug addon extension in firefox to help you determine what line in the styles.css file that you need to adjust.
