I checked out your site, the size of that input was added the the search input itself, not in the css.
so you look inside includes/theme-searchbar.php

You should have at least one featured ad on your site in my opinion. You can try setting one as featured from the admin back end and then see if any normal ad still shows.

That happens because you only have one ad listed. In order to get things working properly you need some ads and at least 5 featured ads to get the slider work smooth.
