Because its been 2 years since the theme has received a major upgrade (ClassiPress 4.x) and eventually the old 3.6.x will remain behind.

For the profile editing issue, I've seen someone blaming WP User Avatar for a similar issue.
Try to disable all plugins and test again. The Editor / Contributor problem remains ... change all users...

I think there is a working plugin on one of the 3rd party sites that includes the feature you're looking for.

What role do you have in ClassiPress - Settings - Security ?
Make sure existing and new users are created as Contributors.

Check WordPress - Users (existing users)
WordPress - Settings - General...

If they're visible, that means they've not been pruned. Once the expired ads have been pruned, they're set as Drafts so they won't be visible anymore.
Maybe your cron is not running for some reason....
