Yes it can be done. First you need to change in the Wordpress admin-Pages the name title of the "Add New" page including the permalink below the title to your preferred name.

Darn....it's a bug in the code. Basically this will be broken for all non-english languages on the home page. Luckily there's an easy fix.

Edit sidebar.php and go to line # 52.
