Adding googlemaps?

Is it possible to add a googlemap to a listing?
I understand that you can simply copy/ paste the code direct from google (when html in the description is allowed) but I want to be able to just have the user enter, for example, a post code.

Also, I know there are a thousand gmaps/ wordpress plugins but having an extra field in the add listing form is currently not possible.

I'm sure you could pop it in the single.php file. It wouldn't be too effective unless the posters include their full address though. RIght now most posters just put city and state in that box. Google maps would look cool though. :-)

Understood Birmingham wouldn't be as exact as a postcode, for example but at least there would be something.

So my next question would be:
How to add an extra field to single.php?

What type of field are you looking to add?

I'm assuming a single text field.
What would be good is to take the postcode already entered and display a gmap.
Failing that the a single text field where users would paste the gmap link - ideally this would then be displayed as a full gmap (size controllable via admin?).
