Hi Brian, just emailed you in reply.

For everyone else's benefit:
This is a setting in Wordpress rather than ClassiPress.
To set another page as the home page, rather than the classifieds list -
Create a page in WP then go to Settings > Reading then change the preference in 'Front page displays' to the chosen page.

Besides the WP setting you can also create a home.php file and put that in the classipress theme folder. WordPress looks for that file first before loading up the index.php page. I recommend this way instead b/c you have much more control over the page.

If you already have wordpress installed, you can experiment with the default theme. Go into the themes/default folder and then copy the index.php page and name the new file home.php. Now you can edit this page and it will be your new blog home page. I recommend getting familiar with wordpress first before jumping in with a new theme like classipress. Just play around with it and learn by trial and error. That's how I got familiar with WP when I first started out. :-)
